Car advert =)

Which advertising techniques being used?
A technique used within this trailer is humour with the child driving the car. This technique a lot of people because many would want to watch the trailer several amount of times. Therefore it would usually attract many people for this particular reason. Furthermore it shows a sense of simplicity within the vehicle itself and it’s an advanced technology therefore it promotes the product because people would want to have the best car yet for it to be at a highly advanced. As the narrator at the end says “the next generation” therefore it shows it is suitable for the baby driving it. However people would want the new technology of cars and the best possible car possible. Furthermore the car shows that it is fun and exciting due to the smiles and laughter of the children, which portrays the car to be a good fun car and for it to be very exciting for the driver and passengers. Also for the child to sit in the back and for the storage kept it shows the car is very efficient and is a family car because it is very spacious and very convenient for putting stuff in the car.  

How is gender represented in this advertisement?
Within this advertisement we can see that both genders are portrayed in a positive way however, the men are the more dominant ones. As the baby boy is driving the car and also is the one who participates in all the activities (surfing) whilst the baby girl is only sitting and watching the male surfing and enjoying himself. But the female can only enjoy the actual view. The male figure represents high stereotypes of a person such as his ‘charming’ blue eyes, he is white therefore he shows dominant ideology.

What is communicated about the Hyundai brand and the experience it offers?
We can see that Hyundai shows typical advanced technology of the ‘next generation’ however the child shows that the car itself conveys simplicity and for the car to be very easy and useful in all conditions and reasons. Furthermore we can see that it shows that the car is for all uses both family uses and non- family uses because the conventions of this car is for it to be a family car however it shows it to be fun and a young car for its advanced technology. Additionally the car shows equality between all people because it shows anyone can have an enjoyable time in the car and how it can be suitable for any person.
Who is target audience and how does the advert attempt to persuade this audience to buy the product?
The audience for this particular product would be primarily a family car for an age of 25-50 because most people would settle to have a comfortable car for their family and would want a car for the family rather than a fast sports car for themselves. Furthermore the car would be for people at a C1. C2 and D social class because they would be able to afford this type of car as Hyundai isn’t the most expensive car on the street, and this car would be for a male to drive it. Moreover the secondary audience for this product would to be for a woman to drive it and for her to be quite the soccer mum.
